Aldi is giving away freebies tomorrow in London to help Pitbull break a world record at Hyde Park. The supermarket giant will temporarily rebrand itself as 'Baldi' on Friday, July 10, in tribute to Pitbull’s headline show at BST Hyde Park.
Pop-Up Stall Offers Free Items for Record Attempt
Aldi will host a pop-up outside the festival handing out freebies to help fans take part in the singer's attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps. The new-look Aldi stall, located outside Hyde Park, will hand out four free items including: bald caps; aviator sunglasses; temporary tattoos; and Aldi’s Infusionist and Stefanoff ready-to-drink cocktail cans.
It will feature a tongue-in-cheek 'Baldi' logo and a 'Firebald' banner - an ode to Pitbull's song Fireball. Pitbull has publicly stated his aim to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people in bald caps at the London show.
Chief Commercial Officer Comments on Campaign
Chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said: "When we heard that Pitbull and his fans were attempting this world record at BST Hyde Park, we knew we had to get involved and show our support with Baldi." She added: "The stall will be on hand to help fans transform into Mr. Worldwide, so if you’re in need of a bald cap or aviators to complete your look, keep an eye out for Baldi as you make your way to the festival."
Availability and Tour Details
The Baldi stand will open on Friday, July 10, ahead of Pitbull’s performance, and supplies will be available while stocks last. Pitbull is currently touring across 15 countries and has 45 upcoming concerts. Last weekend, thousands of fans donned bald caps as he closed Lytham Festival in Lancashire.
