Aldi has issued a timely reminder to its customers regarding store opening hours for the final days of 2025 and the start of the New Year. With 2026 fast approaching, the budget supermarket is urging shoppers to plan their essential trips, especially for those all-important New Year's Eve supplies.
Aldi's New Year Opening Schedule
The retailer, which was recently confirmed by Which? as the UK's Cheapest Supermarket of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, will close for one day over the festive period. After operating as usual until New Year's Eve, all Aldi stores will be shut on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
This means the last opportunity to visit an Aldi store before the New Year's Day closure will be on Wednesday, December 31, with doors shutting at 6pm. Stores will then reopen on Friday, January 2. Aldi advises customers to check their local store's specific hours online for any potential variations.
Confirmed Aldi Opening Times
The supermarket has provided the following general schedule for the key dates:
- Monday, December 29 & Tuesday, December 30: Open from 8am until 8pm.
- Wednesday, December 31 (New Year's Eve): Open from 8am until 6pm.
- Thursday, January 1 (New Year's Day): Closed all day.
- Friday, January 2: Open from 8am until 10pm.
Specialbuys Middle Aisle Update
Alongside the operational hours, Aldi has also provided clarity on its popular Specialbuys offerings in the middle aisle. The schedule was slightly disrupted due to Christmas falling on a Thursday.
An Aldi spokesperson confirmed that the first Specialbuys release after Christmas landed on Sunday, December 28. Shoppers can then expect new stock to arrive on Friday, January 2, and Sunday, January 4.
Normal service, with releases on Thursdays and Sundays, is set to fully resume from Thursday, January 8, once there are no further bank holiday interruptions. Bargain hunters are encouraged to check Aldi's website for the latest planned releases.
The reminders ensure customers can stock up on groceries and hunt for middle aisle deals without disappointment as the calendar turns to a new year.
