Capri-Sun Orange Recall: Mislabeled Pouches Pose Sugar Risk
Capri-Sun Orange Recall: Mislabeled Pouches Pose Sugar Risk

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an urgent recall for specific batches of Capri-Sun Orange, warning shoppers not to consume the product and to return it for a full refund. The recall affects certain multipacks of Capri-Sun Orange because some pouches inside are incorrectly labeled as Capri-Sun Orange Zero, a reduced-sugar variant.

Details of the Recall

Capri Sun UK Limited is recalling Capri-Sun Orange multipacks with pack size 10 x 200ml, batch codes L104, L105, and L106, and a best before date of April 1, 2027. The recall is specific to Northern Ireland. The mislabeled pouches actually contain regular Capri-Sun Orange with its normal sugar level, not the zero-sugar version as indicated on the pouch. This poses a potential health risk to consumers who need to manage their sugar intake, such as diabetics.

Consumer Advice

Shoppers who have purchased the affected batches are urged to check the batch code and best before date. If they match, and if the consumer is dependent on sugar content, they should not drink the product. Instead, they should return it to the retailer for a full refund, with no receipt required. Point of sale notices will be displayed in retail stores explaining the recall.
