Mark Hughes Lists £5.5m Cheshire Mansion in Premier League's 'Golden Triangle'
Mark Hughes puts £5.5m Cheshire mansion on market

Former football star and manager Mark Hughes has returned his extravagant Cheshire mansion to the property market, with an asking price of £5.5 million.

The six-bedroom home, located in the prestigious Mottram St Andrew area, has been listed for sale twice before, most recently in 2020 when it was priced at £5 million.

A Look Inside the Luxury Property

According to the latest listing, this is no ordinary family home. Spanning an impressive nearly 9,000 square feet, the detached property is set behind electric gates and sits within more than two acres of meticulously maintained grounds.

The interior is just as grand, featuring seven bathrooms, multiple reception rooms, and a luxury leisure suite. The home also includes a gym and a large open-plan kitchen and dining area, all benefiting from modern upgrades and integrated smart technology.

Estate agents are promoting the property as an 'expansive, design-led family home with a luxury leisure suite and circa two acres in a prestigious Cheshire location'.

Life in the 'Golden Triangle'

The location is a key selling point. Hughes, 62, has long been a resident of Cheshire's so-called 'Golden Triangle', a region famous for being the favoured neighbourhood for Premier League footballers and managers.

The new listing, uploaded on October 20, confirms the house is being offered freehold. Agents have highlighted its 'immaculately finished interiors' and 'superb setting' close to the affluent towns of Alderley Edge and Wilmslow.

Mottram St Andrew remains one of Britain's most exclusive postcodes, where recent property sales have comfortably exceeded £5 million.

A Property with a Past

This is not the first time Hughes has attempted to sell this particular home. Its history on the market stretches back to 2008.

At that time, he decided to move on following a reported planning dispute involving then-Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick, who was building a mansion nearby. The disagreement was said to have centred on privacy concerns.

Hughes, who was appointed manager of National League side Carlisle in February, has not made any public comment regarding this latest sale attempt.
