Arsenal are in line for a financial boost this summer thanks to a sell-on clause included in the sale of former academy right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who is now being linked with a move to Serie A giants Napoli or Fiorentina.
Norton-Cuffy's rise from Arsenal academy to Serie A
The 22-year-old Londoner joined Arsenal at the age of 10 and progressed through the club's youth system, but never made a senior appearance for the Gunners. Instead, he gained valuable experience on loan spells at Lincoln City, Rotherham United, Coventry City and Millwall. In 2024, Norton-Cuffy made a permanent switch to Genoa for a fee of around £1.7 million. Over the past two seasons, he has established himself in Serie A and also earned 14 caps for England's Under-21 side.
Interest from Napoli and Fiorentina
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, both Napoli and Fiorentina are keen on signing the Englishman this summer, with Napoli considered the frontrunners. This is not the first time Norton-Cuffy has attracted interest from a top Italian club; in January 2026, Juventus were reported to be monitoring him. At that time, Tuttosport revealed that Arsenal had negotiated a 20 percent sell-on clause in his contract when he left for Genoa.
Potential windfall for Arsenal
The report suggests Genoa would demand around €20 million (£17.34 million) for Norton-Cuffy, which would represent a substantial profit on the £1.7 million they paid two years ago. If the transfer goes through, Arsenal would receive 20 percent of the fee, equating to approximately €4 million (£3.47 million). While this windfall would not drastically alter Arsenal's summer transfer plans, it would provide a welcome addition to their budget as they look to strengthen the squad.
Arsenal's summer transfer targets
The Gunners are not expected to make numerous signings but are aiming for a few high-quality additions as they prepare to defend their Premier League title and improve on last season's Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties. Among the players linked with a move to the Emirates are Aston Villa and England star Morgan Rogers, PSG winger Bradley Barcola, Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali, Lille teenager Ayyoub Bouaddi, West Ham and Netherlands winger Crysencio Summerville, and Leicester youngster Jeremy Monga.
