Renault's FutuREady Plan: 26 Models, Electrification by 2030

Renault's FutuREady Strategy: A Bold Vision for Global Growth and Electrification

Renault has unveiled a comprehensive new strategy, dubbed futuREady, which outlines an aggressive plan to launch 26 vehicles over the next four years, significantly expand its electrified lineup, and accelerate growth beyond European markets. By 2030, the French automotive brand aims to sell more than 2 million vehicles annually, with half of those sales originating from international regions.

Strategic Drivers and Market Ambitions

Fabrice Cambolive, chief growth officer of Renault Group and CEO of the Renault brand, emphasized that the company is entering a new phase of expansion. "We are now accelerating the next cycle of growth for the Renault brand thanks to three powerful drivers," he stated. "Our ambition is clear: strengthen our European leadership, accelerate electrification, and go faster internationally to confirm Renault as the number one French automotive brand worldwide." The strategy targets 100% electrified sales in Europe and 50% electrified sales outside Europe, while ensuring strong and sustainable profitability.

Product Offensive and Concept Previews

Central to the futuREady plan is a major product offensive, previewed by two new concepts: the Renault Bridger and Renault R-Space Lab. These concepts hint at 12 new models that Renault will launch in Europe by 2030, alongside 14 vehicles primarily aimed at international markets. In Europe, Renault will focus on small car segments where it has traditionally been strong, with recent launches like the Clio, Renault 5 E-Tech, and Renault 4 E-Tech playing key roles. The forthcoming Twingo E-Tech electric will further extend coverage in the smallest A segment.

Electrification and Technological Innovations

Electrification is a cornerstone of Renault's strategy. The company confirmed that its E-Tech full hybrid technology will remain an important part of its European range post-2030, serving as a stepping stone for customers transitioning to fully electric vehicles. A new generation of electric models will be based on the RGEV medium 2.0 platform, designed for European markets and supporting vehicles from B+ to D segments. This platform will utilize 800-volt technology for ultra-fast charging, offering driving ranges up to 466 miles and configurations including four-wheel-drive models capable of towing up to two tonnes, as well as range extender versions with a combined range of around 870 miles.

Commercial Vehicles and Interior Concepts

Renault is also extending electrification to its commercial vehicle lineup, with the upcoming Trafic van E-Tech electric featuring a software-defined vehicle architecture and 800-volt charging capability, providing a range of up to 280 miles. Additionally, the R-Space Lab concept explores future interior designs, showcasing a bright, highly modular cabin with a curved openR panorama screen that spans the dashboard width, displaying vehicle information, driver assistance systems, and multimedia functions. This concept experiments with new safety and user-interface technologies, including artificial intelligence for personalised driving advice.

Global Expansion and Emerging Markets

Beyond Europe, Renault is targeting significant expansion in markets such as Morocco, Turkey, Latin America, South Korea, and India, where it already has established manufacturing and sales operations. The Bridger Concept, a small SUV designed primarily for emerging markets, previews a future production model expected to launch before the end of 2027. Built in India, it will offer generous interior space with 200 mm of rear knee room and a boot capacity of around 400 litres, available with combustion engines, hybrid systems, or a fully electric version depending on the market.

With 26 new models planned and a renewed focus on electrification and global markets, Renault believes the futuREady strategy will position the brand for its next phase of growth, supporting the wider transition towards electrified mobility.
