Liverpool are reportedly preparing for a significant summer transfer window, with manager Arne Slot focusing on reinforcements after a disappointing season. The reigning Premier League champions invested heavily last summer but have struggled to replicate their previous form.
Antonio Nusa Emerges as Key Target
According to reports, Liverpool are keen on RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa. The 21-year-old Norwegian, who joined Leipzig in 2024, has contributed five goals and four assists in 34 appearances this season. Predominantly a left-winger, Nusa can also operate across the front line or as a number ten. The Reds are prepared to commit up to £75 million to secure his signature, though competition from Arsenal, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Tottenham, and several European clubs could drive up the price.
Doubts Over Yan Diomande Deal
Meanwhile, Liverpool have reportedly cooled on long-term target Yan Diomande, also of RB Leipzig. The 19-year-old Ivorian has impressed with 13 goals and nine assists in 35 games this season, but his £85 million price tag and relative inexperience have given the club pause. Journalist Lewis Steele noted that Liverpool are unsure about triggering such a high fee for an unproven player. RB Leipzig's chief Oliver Mintzlaff has stated that only a huge offer would force the club to sell, further complicating any potential deal.
Major Squad Overhaul Expected
The Reds are set to lose club legends Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson at the end of the season, adding urgency to their recruitment. With Luis Diaz's departure last summer not adequately addressed, and ongoing needs in midfield and full-back positions, Liverpool face a crucial summer. Slot will need to make smart acquisitions to rebuild the squad and challenge for top honours again.
