The conversation turned tense when Nugent asked Jenrick about a clip posted by Reform UK that appeared to show Labour MP Jo White saying she didn't care about stopping migrant boat crossings. White later released the full audio in which she said, "I don't care who will stop the boats," and accused Reform of deliberately twisting her words.
Nugent pressed Jenrick: "Last week, you were accused of sharing misleading content online, taken from a speech made by Labour's Jo White. A speech that had been edited and was then posted. Have you apologised for what you did?"
Jenrick replied that he took down the post and gave White the benefit of the doubt. He claimed there were two recordings and that he didn't know exactly what she said. Nugent countered: "We do because we have the full transcript. We have the full audio that people can hear."
