Premier League Season Ticket Prices Soar by Up to £85

Premier League football fans are facing season ticket price increases of up to 16%, with 15 top-flight clubs raising their cheapest adult prices for the upcoming season. Among the worst affected are supporters of newly-promoted Coventry City and Ipswich Town, as well as Sunderland, who have qualified for the Europa League.

Biggest Price Hikes

Coventry City have increased their cheapest season ticket by 16% to £625, while Ipswich Town fans face a 12% rise to £469. Sunderland supporters also see a 12% hike to £550. Hull City have raised prices by 10% to £396, and Manchester United fans are paying 6% more at £646. Everton supporters face a 5% increase to £770.

Arsenal Most Expensive

Champions Arsenal, with the league's most expensive tickets, have raised prices from £921.50 to £978. Newcastle United, owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, increased their cheapest ticket by 5% to £730 but introduced a new budget season ticket at £380 for the upper tier of St James' Park.

Fan Reaction

Michael Brunskill of the Football Supporters Association said: “The Daily Mirror’s research shows the variety of prices in the Premier League. While some clubs offer good value, there are also very expensive tickets. It’s good to see some clubs freezing prices. Our #StopExploitingLoyalty campaign calls for a halt on price rises, affordable concessionary tickets, and dialogue between clubs and supporter groups.”

Club Statements

Brentford chief executive Jon Varney commented: “Raising ticket prices is not a decision we have taken lightly, but it is necessary due to rising operating costs. Despite this, Brentford remains one of the most affordable stadiums for Premier League football. We have frozen junior prices and subsidise away tickets through our Gen10 initiative.”

A Brighton & Hove spokesperson said: “We understand the financial pressures on fans and have kept increases to a minimum. Our costs have risen significantly, and we aim to make the club sustainable while providing value, including an inclusive travel scheme and interest-free payment plans.”
