Man Utd injury update: Three ruled out for Tottenham clash

Michael Carrick will be without Patrick Dorgu, Noussair Mazraoui and Benjamin Sesko for Manchester United's Premier League fixture with Tottenham this weekend. There will also be late checks on Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford after they only recently returned to some training, while Amad also appears doubtful as he continues his recovery from injury.

International break adds to injury list

Striker Sesko withdrew from international duty with a recurrence of his troublesome shin injury, while Mainoo and Rashford also pulled out of the England squad for their quartet of Nations League games. United's injury woes deepened during the international break when Dorgu and Mazraoui picked up injuries playing for Denmark and Morocco, respectively.

"It's been a long time since we definitely, since we sat here last. Yeah, a bit of a mixture really through the internationals," said Carrick. "Patrick came off and looks like he'll be out for probably a number of weeks. Nous came off and took a knock. He's not quite right yet, so we'll have to see how he is."

"Carlos [Baleba] has improved, he's trained a lot. Amad's done a little bit of training, Marcus has done a little bit of training, Kobbie's done a little bit of training. So, a little bit mixed really between the group. Ben's a little bit further away with the issue he's got, so he won't be ready."

Tottenham are bottom of the table ahead of Saturday's game but Carrick won't be taking the threat his former team carries lightly. "I think they've played a lot better than that at times, and when you look at the games, they're a very good team with some very good players," he said.

"Assembled a squad this summer that's a little bit different to maybe what they've had, but they're a good team. Just because of the points, I understand the question, but we're not going into it expecting anything less than their best version of what we know they're capable of, and actually they have shown for large parts, but probably haven't had the results that maybe the performances deserve."
