Aldi has announced the creation of 450 new jobs across the UK as part of a £370 million expansion programme that will see around 40 new stores open this year.
New Roles and Competitive Pay
The new roles are for entry-level store assistants, offering what Aldi describes as 'market-leading pay'. Store assistants will earn £13.50 per hour nationally and £14.88 per hour within the M25, regardless of age. These rates rise to £14.47 and £15.20 respectively based on length of service. Aldi is also the only major supermarket to offer paid breaks, which amounts to approximately £1,500 per year for the average store colleague.
No Formal Qualifications Required
No formal qualifications are needed for the vacancies, but Aldi is seeking friendly, positive candidates who are comfortable with numbers. The supermarket, which was named the cheapest supermarket in June, will pay the new staff a minimum wage of £13.50 an hour.
Career Opportunities
Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: 'Whether you're looking for your first role in retail or a fresh start, Aldi offers market-leading pay, excellent training and real opportunities to build your career. From day one, our colleagues are supported with the training and experience they need to succeed, with clear opportunities to progress as their careers develop.'
Advertisements describe the positions as a first stepping stone for a career with the UK's highest paying supermarket. More information is available at www.aldirecruitment.co.uk.
