Former Bake Off Star's Air Fryer Cookie Recipe Goes Viral at 36p Each
Air Fryer Cookie Recipe: 36p Each, No Oven Needed

Former Great British Bake Off contestant Rowan Claughton has revealed a simple, budget-friendly recipe for triple chocolate cookies that mimics the popular M&S version, using an air fryer instead of a traditional oven. The recipe, shared on TikTok as part of his 'Baking on a Budget' series, produces 16 cookies for just £5.72, making each cookie cost only 36 pence.

Air Fryer Method for Perfect Texture

Claughton's method relies on an air fryer to achieve a crispy exterior and gooey, melted chocolate centre. He explained, 'This will help make the outside of the cookies crispy, while melting the chocolate enough for a gooey centre.' After baking, he remarked, 'They look absolutely beautiful. It's exactly like the M&S cookie. I just can't believe that's 36p. You can have a delicious cookie and not spend loads and loads of money on just five, and it tastes like a million dollars.'

Viral Success and Public Reaction

The video has garnered over 131,800 views, 15,200 likes, and 72 comments at the time of writing. Viewers praised the recipe's affordability and taste. Jessica commented, '36p!! What a steal - they look incredible.' Jackie wrote, 'Just made some but I only added white choc chips. Well tasty thank you for the recipe.' Sunita added, 'Omg the m&s triple choc cookies are my absolute fave! Will be trying this.' Mille agreed, 'Love these recipes so great and budget friendly, I made the shortbread and it was amazing. Defo going to make this next.'
