9 high-paying jobs without a degree, up to £57k

As thousands of students across the country collect their A-Level results, many will be preparing for university next month. However, a degree is not always essential for a well-paid job. Apprenticeships and other routes offer the chance to earn while training, or people can enter the workplace directly and earn a high salary straight away.

Top-paying roles without a degree

Jobs website Indeed has compiled a list of nine jobs where people can earn over £50,000 a year on average. A hazardous waste manager can earn an annual salary of over £57,000, while a firefighter earns just over £32,000 a year on average.

Indeed said the hazardous waste manager role's high wage is due to the skill and risk involved in dealing with hazardous products from pesticide factories, hospitals and other areas that may carry potentially dangerous by-products.
