Scottish Water chiefs get £258k bonuses amid bill rises

Scottish Water bosses have been awarded £258,000 of bonuses at a time of consumer price rises. The bonuses were disclosed in the body's latest accounts.

Executive pay details

Alex Plant, the chief executive at the publicly-owned utility, was given £115,000 on top of his £315,000 salary. His full remuneration package came to £432,000.

Other executives were also rewarded with performance bonuses. Peter Farrer was given a £64,000 bonus to boost his £176,000 salary. Alan Dingwall received a £217,000 salary and a £79,000 bonus.

Customer bill increases

In January, the Board of Scottish Water announced that household water and waste water bills would rise by an average of £42 per year from April.
