Manchester United can now fully concentrate on the summer transfer window as the current season draws to a close. The Red Devils have secured a third-place finish in the Premier League, guaranteeing their return to the Champions League next term.
Michael Carrick's Permanent Role and Transfer Plans
Michael Carrick has impressed as interim manager and is expected to be appointed on a permanent basis. The 44-year-old has previously acknowledged his involvement in the club's transfer discussions. While replacing Casemiro remains a top priority, Carrick may also look to strengthen other areas of the squad.
£50m Transfer Battle for Gleison Bremer
Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus defender Gleison Bremer has attracted interest from Manchester United. Carrick's side is said to be "on his trail," alongside Premier League rivals Liverpool. The 29-year-old Brazilian is reportedly willing to "listen to possible offers" this summer, especially with Juventus at risk of missing out on Champions League qualification. His current contract runs until 2029 and includes a £50 million release clause. Although Bremer is happy at Juventus, he is eager to win major honours as he enters his prime. He has won one Coppa Italia since joining from Torino in 2022 and will represent Brazil at the World Cup this summer.
Man Utd Star Sacrificed for Deal
Sky Sport Deutschland claims that Manchester United must sell Noussair Mazraoui to facilitate a move for Borussia Dortmund full-back Julian Ryerson. The Norway international has registered 15 assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances this season, which has reportedly caught United's attention. Ryerson has two years remaining on his contract and is expected to be priced at around £26 million. United are searching for a right-back to challenge Diogo Dalot, but any move for Ryerson depends on Mazraoui leaving Old Trafford. The United defender arrived from Bayern Munich in 2024 and has made only 10 league starts this season.
