A woman has gone viral on TikTok after people noticed her striking resemblance to a young Cher. Samantha Davidoff, 31, known as Sammy, regularly receives comments from strangers who mistake her for the iconic singer, who turns 80 on May 20.
Sammy, a social media marketing strategist based in Miami, says the comparisons started about eight to ten years ago but intensified after she began posting regularly on TikTok. 'I've never done a TikTok live without at least one person saying it,' she said.
Far from being offended, Sammy takes the comparison as a compliment. 'Cher was such a style icon when she was my age and, on top of that, she's beautiful and so talented,' she said. Sammy is a fan of Cher, counting 'Believe' among her favourite songs.
She sees the resemblance as an entry point to building her brand. 'My focus is on building something long-term, both as a creator and on the business side,' she said. Sammy hopes to one day dress up as Cher for Halloween, once she finds the perfect outfit.
