The National Lottery Lotto draw on Saturday 30 May offers a jackpot of £3.8 million, with the winning numbers revealed at 8pm. The Thunderball draw, with a top prize of £500,000, follows shortly after.
Since its launch in 1994, the UK National Lottery has allocated around half of ticket sales to prizes, with 28% supporting good causes. The remainder covers government duty, retailer commissions, and operator costs.
The largest Lotto prize to date was £35 million, won by an anonymous ticket-holder in April 2016. More recently, a syndicate of retired steelworkers from Port Talbot won £1 million in the EuroMillions draw in February.
