Justin Rose Compared to Ronaldo and LeBron for Investment in Success
Justin Rose Compared to Ronaldo and LeBron for Investment

Justin Rose has been ranked alongside global superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James in terms of the essential investment required to achieve greatness, according to his long-time caddie Mark Fulcher. The 45-year-old golfer, a US Open champion and 13-time PGA Tour winner, is widely regarded as one of the most successful players of his generation. Fulcher, who has worked with Rose for over 16 years, shared insights into what sets him apart from his peers.

Comparison to Sporting Icons

Speaking to sports PR agency Press Box PR, Fulcher stated: "I think you absolutely can compare him to Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James. Not only with the commitment and investment he puts in himself, with the bus that he's installed, the recovery bus that he takes with him everywhere, the team that invests around him." He emphasised that Rose's dedication extends beyond the golf course, encompassing a comprehensive support system that includes a caddie, coach, putting coach, short game coach, mental health professionals, and physiotherapists.

Investment Mindset

Fulcher highlighted Rose's unique perspective on spending: "Golf is expensive now. You have a caddie, a coach, a putting coach, a short game coach, people on the mental side, then you get the physio and they're all incredible. He's managed to put a really top team together." He noted that Rose has always prioritised investing in himself, even during times when financial security was not guaranteed. "He always looked at it as an investment, as opposed to a cost. Other golfers will look at caddies, physios, the private jet as a cost. Rosey still perceives that as an investment and I think that's another piece of wisdom that he's picked up and others could follow," Fulcher added.

Upcoming PGA Championship

Rose is set to compete in the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club this week. He will tee off alongside defending champion Scottie Scheffler and fan favourite Matt Fitzpatrick at 7.05pm BST on Thursday evening. Despite several near-misses in major tournaments, Rose's best finish at the PGA Championship came in 2012, when he tied for third place with Keegan Bradley, Carl Pettersson, and Ian Poulter at Kiawah Island. Rory McIlroy won that event with a dominant performance.
