The newspaper acknowledged a mistake in a diary item that incorrectly referred to the Chairman of the British Fashion Council as Sir Harold Tillman, when he is in fact Harold Tillman CBE.
A comment article published on August 23, 2012, erroneously stated that Israel's government is based in Tel Aviv. The correction notes that the government is, of course, located in Jerusalem.
Another comment article from September 5 misrepresented a campaign by the charity Kids Company. The article claimed the charity had stated that one million children in the UK are 'starving'. However, the charity has informed the Mail that its actual claim was that one million children are 'living with food insecurity – not knowing where the next meal is coming from'.
The Daily Mail invites readers to report inaccuracies by writing to the Readers’ Editor or emailing corrections@dailymail.co.uk. The newspaper noted that it publishes around 80,000 words per issue under tight deadlines, and while efforts are made to ensure accuracy, mistakes can occur.
