From chart-toppers to football legends, celebrities are no longer just selling records, films, or fashion lines – they are pouring their fame into bottles. The latest trend has seen stars swap the stage for the vineyard, the distillery and the drinks aisle, with a growing number of famous faces launching their own tipples and turning their names into global brands.
Kylie Minogue's Wine Success
One of the biggest success stories belongs to Kylie Minogue, whose wine range has become a huge hit in the UK, with her rosé and sparkling wines helping turn the pop princess into a plonk powerhouse. Her range is now sold across supermarkets and wine retailers and, usually, under £10.
Gary Barlow's Organic Wines
Closer to home, Take That's Gary Barlow has also found success with his own organic wine range, selling bottles including his Cheshire-grown rosé and white wines for £10 to £15. The singer, 55, takes the project extremely seriously and works closely with the winemakers.
David Beckham and George Clooney: Spirits Giants
And it isn't just wine. David Beckham was one of the first celebrities to bottle his success and entered the whisky world with Haig Club back in 2014. The premium single grain Scotch was created with drinks giant Diageo, and is sold for around £40 in a distinctive blue bottle. Hollywood's George Clooney showed just how lucrative the booze can be when his Casamigos tequila brand was sold to Diageo in a deal worth up to $1 billion.
Kendall Jenner's Tequila
Kendall Jenner, 30, followed the tequila trail too, launching her own brand 818 Tequila in 2021 after claiming she spent years developing the recipe. The supermodel's premium blanco, reposado and añejo bottles now sell for around £45 to £60.
Elton John's Non-Alcoholic Option
And Sir Elton John has proved there's a market for those sober, like himself, too. The chart star launched Elton John Zero earlier this year – a non-alcoholic sparkling Blanc de Blancs designed to give fans the feeling of raising a glass without the booze.
Beer and Beyond
And don't forget the beers – Iron Maiden and Rick Astley have made a pretty penny from their own tins. It's fair to say the hottest celebrity accessory now comes with a cork, a cap or a shot glass. Because in showbiz fame might be fleeting, a good bottle can keep the cash flowing.
