The competition is part of the Yorkshire bedmaker's new 'Restminster' campaign, a playful twist on 'Westminster' designed to put sleep higher up the national agenda. The company is encouraging Brits to stop seeing running on empty as something to be proud of and to give a good night's rest the attention it deserves.
Public Support for Better Sleep
Research from Highgrove Beds found that 79% of Brits would not feel confident in the judgement of a sleep-deprived Prime Minister or politician. Almost three quarters of respondents said they had experienced a negative consequence of tiredness or sleep deprivation in the last year, such as forgetting something important, starting an argument, making a mistake at work or making a bad financial decision.
Sleep doctor Dr Alanna Hare, who has partnered with Highgrove Beds for the campaign, said: "Sleep is not simply a period of rest. It plays an important role in cognitive function, emotional regulation and our ability to make decisions effectively."
