The hack involves white vinegar, baking soda, and washing-up liquid. First, locate the washing machine filter—usually at the bottom left or right—and remove it along with the detergent tray. Soak cleaning cloths in white vinegar and place them on the rubber seal, which is prone to mould. White vinegar acts as a natural mould remover.
Next, clean the filter and tray with washing-up liquid and a brush, then dry them thoroughly. Wipe down the seal and door, both front and back. Finally, pour white vinegar into the detergent drawer and add a scoop of baking soda directly into the drum. Run a hot wash cycle to complete the deep clean.
