A 92-year-old grandmother has revealed that her secret to looking decades younger is a skincare product that costs as little as £2 at Boots. Joan Richmond-Woodhouse, known online as Grandma Joan, says people often mistake her for a woman in her 50s due to her youthful appearance.
Joan, who posts on TikTok under @joansumner1930, has been using Nivea cream since she was 16. She recalled: 'After the war, when I was about 16, Nivea cream had just come out and my friend said, “Try it, it’s brilliant.” So I’ve used it for years and years.'
The grandmother-of-18, who splits her time between the UK and Spain, insists she doesn't do anything special to stay young. She said: 'I don't know how to behave like a 91-year-old – I just act the same as I did when I was 21. I love pies and English grub, and I’ve never put any weight on.'
Nivea products are widely available, with the Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream costing £2 at Boots, and the classic Nivea Creme starting from £1.50 for a 50ml tub on Amazon. Joan's TikTok followers were amazed, with one commenting: 'I’m off to buy some Nivea! You look amazing.'
