Royal Mail has named 90 UK postcodes that will not receive deliveries on time today, Monday, July 27. The delivery firm cited local issues such as high sick absence, resourcing problems, or other local factors as reasons for the delays.
Royal Mail said: 'We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.'
In those cases, Royal Mail will rotate deliveries to minimise delay to individual customers and provide targeted support to affected offices. Over the past 24 hours, the air and road network has operated to schedule.

Delivery card update
Last week, Royal Mail revealed it has updated its delivery cards, used when deliveries cannot be made. In a social media post, Royal Mail said: 'We’ve revitalised our Something for you delivery cards – with a fresh new look and a clever upgrade. They now come with an easy-to-scan QR code – because even the most charming handwriting deserves a digital sidekick. The new card is simpler, faster, and a more secure way to stay in control of your missed deliveries.'
Royal Mail added in a video: 'This updated version includes a QR code that provides direct access to your item's location. Simply scan the QR code on the card using your mobile phone to instantly view your tracking details. You'll see a link beginning with RYML.me. Just tap the link to open your tracking page. Your unique nine-digit tracking code will already be filled in for you. Simply enter your delivery postcode to confirm access. From there, you'll be able to see the latest location of your item, including any safe place photos or neighbour delivery details.' If preferred, customers can manually enter the code on the Royal Mail app or website, and can request a redelivery at a convenient date.
