Coca-Cola Hack to Remove Limescale from Bathroom Taps

Cleaning experts have revealed that Coca-Cola can effectively remove stubborn limescale and soap scum from bathroom taps. The fizzy drink contains citric, tartaric, and phosphoric acids, which dissolve mineral deposits without damaging metal surfaces.

According to Homeaglow, the method involves filling a plastic bag with Coca-Cola and securing it over the tap spout with elastic bands. Leave it to soak for at least an hour, then remove the bag and gently scrub with a toothbrush. Rinse with warm water and dry with a clean cloth.

The acids in Coca-Cola are strong enough to break down hardened limescale but mild enough to avoid discolouring or peeling metallic finishes. This makes it a safe and natural alternative to harsh chemical cleaners.

For particularly stubborn stains, the soaking time can be extended. The technique restores shine to taps that have lost their lustre due to soap residue and mineral buildup.
