Poundland Recalls Cashews Over Possible Glass Contamination

Poundland has issued a recall for bags of The Tasty Snack Co. Roasted and Salted Cashews due to the possible presence of glass. The budget retailer has urged customers not to eat the product and to return it to any Poundland store for a full refund, with no receipt required.

The recall affects 100g bags with the batch code 56T 25255 and a best before date of 19 July 2026. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has announced that point of sale notices will be displayed in all relevant stores to inform customers of the issue.

In a statement, Poundland apologised for the inconvenience, emphasising that customer safety and product quality are paramount. The FSA warned that pieces of glass could cause damage to the oesophagus, irritation, and bleeding if swallowed.

This recall follows a separate alert from Aldi, which withdrew its Dairyfine Crispy Choc Um’s due to a potential peanut allergy risk. Consumers are advised to check their purchases and follow the recall instructions.
