Newcastle Trampoline Park and Gym on West Road is opening a new multi-activity zone this Friday, following a £400,000 investment, just in time for the October half-term.
The zone replaces the former trampoline park and is designed to encourage children, young people and families to be active together. It offers attractions for all ages, from 18 months upwards, with under-eights requiring adult supervision throughout their visit.
New facilities and attractions
The state-of-the-art facility includes a 'strike arena' play structure with an obstacle course and interactive challenges, a trampoline zone with inter-connecting trampolines, and an interactive football pitch with target games. The popular Air Bag, a giant inflatable landing cushion, remains, alongside a new jump tower and slide.
The investment comes from GLL, a charitable social enterprise and worker-owned co-op operating under the Better brand. The new facilities are part of an ongoing programme of improvements at the venue.
Programme and party packages
Behind-the-scenes improvements include a safety briefing video shown upon arrival, which is expected to reduce waiting times. A weekly programme will feature parent-and-toddler and SEND sessions. The facility is also available for hire as a birthday party venue for children aged between five and 15 years.
Party packages, available 10am-4pm at weekends, include 60 minutes of activity followed by a two-course meal in a party room. The new zone complements the existing monster-theme soft play area for up to 10-year-olds, which has ball pits, tunnels, slides and an obstacle course.
Alison Westworth, GLL’s partnership manager for Newcastle, said: “This significant investment reflects our long-term commitment to providing high-quality leisure facilities that meet the changing needs and expectations of our customers. We’re confident the improvements will strengthen the centre’s appeal and provide a strong foundation for its continued success.”
She added: "We know our visitors will be eager to see the transformation and we’re looking forward to welcoming families to the new leisure facility."
