The National Lottery Lotto draw scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, has been delayed due to a technical fault, organisers have confirmed. The draw, which offers a jackpot of £2 million, was expected to take place at 8pm, but a live stream issue has caused a hold-up.
In a statement on social media, a National Lottery spokesperson said: 'Due to a technical fault the live draw is delayed. We’re working hard to fix it, and we apologise for the inconvenience.' The Thunderball draw, with a £500,000 top prize, was also affected.
The delay comes as lottery officials continue to resolve the problem. Ticket-holders are advised to stay tuned for updates on when the numbers will be announced.
The UK National Lottery, first drawn in November 1994, allocates 50% of revenue to prizes, 28% to good causes, 12% to government duty, and 5% each to retailers and operator Camelot. The largest Lotto jackpot in history was £42 million in January 1996, shared by three winners.
