Maybelline, renowned for its budget-friendly concealers like Fit Me and Instant Eraser, has launched the Lifter Concealer. This new product promises a hydrating, full-coverage formula that brightens the skin with a radiant complexion and a lifted look. Infused with a 2% peptide blend and caffeine, the brightening effects are said to be both instant and cumulative over time.
Tested on two different skin tones, the concealer impressed with its easy application and blendability. One reviewer with medium/warm skin used shade 50 and found it brightened under the eyes without harsh lines, though some light creasing occurred after a few hours. They noted it layered well over foundation and lasted without touch-ups, making it ideal for special occasions.
A second reviewer with fair skin used shade 15 and described the coverage as medium-full rather than very full, but appreciated that it didn't oxidise throughout the day. While it wasn't moisturising enough to avoid clinging to very dry patches, it performed better than other formulas for light dryness. They recommended using a brush for buffing and noted that a little product goes a long way.
Overall, the Maybelline Lifter Concealer is praised for its radiant, brightening finish and easy blending. It stays put all day with no colour change. However, it may not be suitable for very dry skin; for normal to combination skin it works well, and those with oily skin should set it with powder. At £10, it offers excellent value for a full-coverage concealer.
