Yorkshire Dad Eats Only Greggs for 72 Hours: Reveals Best and Worst Menu Items
Man Eats Only Greggs for 3 Days, Ranks Best & Worst Meals

A Yorkshire-based father and content creator has put his taste buds to the ultimate test, consuming nothing but food from bakery chain Greggs for three consecutive days.

The Greggs Marathon: A 72-Hour Challenge

The YouTuber known as Just Deano embarked on the unusual challenge, documenting the experience for his channel. Over the course of 72 hours, he ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner exclusively from Greggs, spending a total of £30.67 and consuming a staggering 5,358 calories.

His culinary journey began with a classic sausage sandwich, hash browns, and orange juice. Over the following days, his menu included items like a festive bake, a mature cheddar cheese ploughman's oval bite, golden syrup porridge, and a southern fried chicken burger with wedges.

The Clear Winners and Losers

After the marathon, Deano was quick to highlight his top picks and biggest disappointments. To his own surprise, the standout winner was the mature cheddar cheese ploughman's oval bite from his first day.

"The more I ate of it, the better it were. It was absolutely beautiful," he declared, naming it the best item he tried.

He also heaped praise on the value of a 'Too Good To Go' magic bag, which cost just £2.99 and contained two pastas, two bakes, and a fruit pot. "You can’t beat a Too Good To Go," he said, acknowledging the popular food waste initiative.

However, not every meal hit the spot. The ham and cheese toastie, priced at £3.65, was singled out as the worst value and a major letdown. Upon opening it, Deano criticised its appearance as "pathetic" and slammed the scant cheese and vegetable sauce as "absolutely diabolical."

Even after crisping it up in the air fryer, he found it "awfully dry" and "horrendous," concluding, "I won’t be buying that again."

Familiar Favourites and Viewer Reaction

True to form for many Brits, the humble sausage roll remained a reliable favourite, even when eaten cold. "You can’t beat a sausage roll," Deano affirmed, showcasing its enduring appeal.

Following the video's release, viewers shared their thoughts. One commented on the challenge's difficulty, stating, "Fair play mate. I couldn’t have lived on just that, not enough food for me." Another was impressed by the Too Good To Go haul, saying, "That Too Good To Go bag looked sound."

While the experiment confirmed Greggs' status as a go-to for affordable, convenient food, it also proved that not every item on the menu is a guaranteed hit, with the toastie receiving a particularly scathing review.
