Kitchen grease and stains will wash off with 'perfect' product everyone has

Cleaning expert Lynsey Crombie, known online as the Queen of Clean, has shared a simple hack for keeping kitchen surfaces "shiny and streak-free" using nothing more than washing-up liquid.

According to the Express, Crombie said: "I am constantly asked how I keep my high gloss, kitchen cabinets clean, shiny and streak-free. To remove grease, grime, food splashes and finger marks, I start by cleaning with warm water and washing up liquid. Washing up liquid is a degreaser, so I.T. is the perfect product to use."

Why washing-up liquid works

Washing-up liquid is purpose-built to cut through hardened food, grease, and oil from plates. Most products struggle to eliminate greasy marks because oil and water do not mix, but washing-up liquid contains surfactants that break down oil so it can be rinsed away.

This makes tackling a kitchen considerably more straightforward, as it loosens stubborn marks on surfaces, meaning there is no need for vigorous scrubbing. It is one of the simplest methods for removing grease or sticky residue, allowing you to thoroughly clean surfaces in just a matter of minutes.

How to deep clean kitchen cabinets and worktops

To start, squeeze a small amount of washing-up liquid into a basin or bowl of warm water, but be careful not to use too much, as this will leave a soapy film across your kitchen surfaces.

Submerge a cloth in the solution, wring it out thoroughly, and wipe in a circular motion. Concentrate on spots where grease commonly accumulates, such as cabinet handles, areas surrounding the hob, and the backs of worktops.

Should there be a particularly stubborn residue, place the damp cloth directly onto the stain for 30 seconds before wiping, and it should dissolve with ease.

Take a second cloth to rinse the surfaces with warm water to eliminate any remaining soap residue, then dry everything thoroughly with a third cloth. Your kitchen should now be spotlessly clean and free of stains with just five minutes of effort.
