Jet2 Reminds Passengers: Bring Bank Cards for Onboard Payments

Jet2 has issued a reminder to UK passengers about an everyday item that is essential for a smooth flight experience. The airline emphasizes the importance of bringing a bank card on board to prevent unnecessary delays for staff and fellow travelers.

Why You Need a Bank Card on Jet2 Flights

On its official website, Jet2 states that accepting only card payments helps make its service as efficient as possible. Within the 'onboard service and conduct' section, the airline notes: "To make our service as efficient as possible, we only accept card payments." This policy applies to all purchases made during the flight, including food, drinks, and duty-free items.

Contactless Payment Options

Jet2 has also introduced updates to contactless payment methods, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. However, the airline advises passengers to bring their physical card as a backup for chip and PIN transactions when needed. This ensures that orders can be placed promptly without any hold-ups.

Other Important Onboard Rules

Beyond payment methods, Jet2 has several other regulations that passengers should keep in mind. For instance, any alcohol purchased on board must be consumed during the flight. The airline cautions: "Only alcoholic drinks purchased on board may be consumed during the flight. Jet2.com reserves the right to serve alcoholic drinks at our absolute discretion."

Smoking and Vaping Prohibited

Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited on all Jet2 flights in accordance with safety laws. Passengers who fail to comply may face consequences, including being refused boarding or removed from the aircraft.

Consequences of Disruptive Behavior

The aircraft captain has full authority to refuse boarding to any passenger who behaves inappropriately. Additionally, individuals who are disruptive, disorderly, or pose a risk to others may be subject to legal action. Jet2 warns: "Anyone falling foul of this provision shall be liable to indemnify us in full against any liability or loss we may suffer as a result. In addition, they may be prevented from flying with us in the future."

For more information, passengers can review Jet2's Conduct on Board policy on the airline's website.
