Vale Veterinary Centre, a family-run independent veterinary practice, has ceased trading as of Monday, July 27, 2026. All three of its branches—in Barry, Cardiff, and Newport—have been closed with immediate effect, and all future appointments are cancelled.
According to posts on the practice's Facebook page, the Barry branch had been closed since July 13 and was expected to remain closed until August. A post earlier in July had advertised for a locum vet position at the Barry site. However, on Monday a post announced the sudden cessation of trading.
Patient Records and Staff Request
On its website, Vale Veterinary Centre describes itself as "one of the last independent vet centres in south Wales." The practice stated that patient histories can be sent to local practices upon request, and asked customers to respect staff during this "difficult time."
