Zelensky hails Ukraine strike on Russian factory, Starlink returns

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is celebrating two major victories in his war efforts: a direct hit on a Russian war factory using British missiles and the restoration of Starlink connectivity. Video from the battlefield appears to show the Proton-Electrotex complex in Oryol, Russia, being destroyed by a Storm Shadow missile, according to reports from The Sun.

Strike on Russian War Factory

The Proton-Electrotex factory produced components for ballistic weapons, and the strike caused a huge fireball above the site. This attack marks a significant blow to Russia's military supply chain.

Starlink Connectivity Restored

Zelensky also celebrated the return of Starlink and its military equivalent, Starshield, which are used for mobile communications and controlling drones—a key feature of the Russia-Ukraine War. Speeds had been cut earlier this month, prompting talks between Zelensky, Starlink owner Elon Musk, and Donald Trump to reconnect the service.

On Saturday, October 24, Zelensky posted on X: “The most important thing today is that Starlink and Starshield operations have been restored to the speeds we had before the restrictions. The speeds are now where they need to be. The restoration began overnight, and by this morning, speeds were already sufficient. This matters: for our frontline logistics, for defending Ukraine against jet-powered “shaheds.” I thank all Americans and all our partners who took this seriously and truly helped – members of Congress, senators, all the media, the State Department, and the President. Protecting lives matters.”

Humanitarian Efforts

Elsewhere, Melania Trump claims she has brokered a ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid to reach the Ukrainian city of Oleshky, near the Crimean Peninsula, where starvation is said to be growing.
