Disney+ has reintroduced a limited-time promotional offer, dropping its subscription price to £3.99 per month for three months. This flash sale positions the streaming service as the most affordable major platform, undercutting rivals such as Netflix, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video.
Deal Details
New and eligible returning subscribers can secure the Standard with Ads plan at £3.99 monthly for three months, down from the usual £5.99. This effectively provides a three-month subscription for the price of two. The offer is available until May 6, after which the price reverts to the standard rate.
Following the promotional period, the subscription will automatically renew at £5.99 per month unless cancelled. Customers also have the option to upgrade to ad-free tiers: Disney+ Standard at £6.99 (normally £9.99) or Disney+ Premium at £9.99 (normally £14.99), which includes 4K UHD, HDR, Dolby Atmos, and up to four concurrent streams.
Competitive Landscape
At £3.99, Disney+ undercuts the basic tiers of Netflix (£5.99), Prime Video (£5.99), HBO Max (£4.99), and Apple TV (£9.99). Sky recently integrated a free Disney+ subscription into its revamped Ultimate TV bundle, which also includes Netflix and HBO Max.
Upcoming Content
The promotion coincides with the anticipated second season of Rivals, the raunchy drama starring David Tennant based on Dame Jilly Cooper's novel. The season will premiere on May 15 with three episodes, followed by two six-part batches. Other new releases include The Testaments, a dystopian drama set after The Handmaid's Tale, and the second instalment of Paradise.
Fan-favourite revivals such as Scrubs and Malcolm in the Middle have already launched this year, alongside Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar titles like Daredevil: Born Again and Maul – Shadow Lord. Reality TV fans can enjoy Raising Chelsea with Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo.
Customer Feedback
Disney+ has garnered mixed reviews on Trustpilot. A satisfied subscriber commented: "I've been a subscriber since it launched in the UK and for me the experience has only got better. The catalogue is huge and always something for me and my family to watch." Another user noted: "I've always loved Disney+ and while it isn't the most expansive streaming platform, what it does contain is good quality and easy to watch. I'd also consider it quite affordable." However, some customers complained about ad frequency, with one stating: "Too many ads while watching a show. Satellite had less frequent ads." Conversely, a five-star review praised the service: "Very good selection, friendly support and easy to cancel if you need to. Very easy to navigate their site and the openness and transparency they show should be a model for others."
