Barclays is offering a £200 bonus to new customers who switch their current account, but the offer has a strict August deadline. The bank warns that the terms could change, so acting soon is advisable.
How to get the bonus
The cash offer is available only to new customers who arrange the switch through the Barclays app. To start, select 'Switch to Barclays' in the app and follow the instructions, which require your old debit card. You must also transfer at least two active direct debits.
Key dates and conditions
The deadline to request the switch is Thursday, August 27. After that, you must complete the full switch within 30 days and pay in at least £2,000 within 30 days of opening the account. The switch must be done through the Current Account Switch Service, closing your old account.
If you open the account and request the switch on the final day, the last date to complete all requirements is Saturday, September 26. The bonus will be paid within 28 working days of meeting all criteria and will appear on your statement as 'Switch Reward'.
The offer page warns: "The current account switch reward offer will run from 9 June 2026 to 27 August 2026. If a situation beyond our control arises, we may withdraw, amend or replace this offer."
