Barclays is offering a £200 cash bonus for switching to a Barclays Bank Account, and some existing customers may qualify even if they think they don't. The offer, which runs until August 27, is primarily for new customers, but business bank account holders may be eligible under certain conditions.
Eligibility details
The fine print states the offer is for new customers, which includes anyone who already has a Barclays current account, such as a student or graduate account, or a Premier Current Account. Those who previously received a switch payment for moving to Barclays are excluded.
However, business bank account customers are eligible if they didn't have a personal account with Barclays when the offer started. Barclays confirms: "Yes, you're eligible if you didn't have a personal account with us when the offer started."
How to get the bonus
To receive the £200 payment, you must open a Barclays Bank Account in a sole name, download the Barclays app and select 'Switch to Barclays', transfer at least two active direct debits, complete a full switch via the Current Account Switch Service within 30 days, and deposit at least £2,000 into the new account within 30 days of opening it.
Deadline
The switch must be started by August 27 to qualify. Barclays states: "The current account switch reward offer will run from 9 June 2026 to 27 August 2026. If a situation beyond our control arises, we may withdraw, amend or replace this offer."
