The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned customers not to eat three pasta products sold by Asda and Morrisons due to possible contamination with Listeria bacteria. The recall, announced on Friday, covers England, Scotland and Wales.
Products affected
Food company Greencore is recalling the following ready meals:
- Asda Cheese & Tomato Pasta Salad (300g) – product code 5063089221990, use by August 10, 2026.
- Asda Nacho Cheese Pasta Salad (500g) – product code 5063717198311, use by August 9, 2026.
- Morrisons Chicken and Bacon Pasta (300g) – product code 5010251790587, use by August 7, 2026.
No other products or date codes are affected.
Health risks
Listeria causes listeriosis, which usually clears up on its own but can cause serious illness in some people. Symptoms include high temperature, aches and pains, chills, vomiting or diarrhoea. During pregnancy, it can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth.
Advice to customers
As part of Greencore's precautionary action, the FSA advises shoppers who bought these products not to eat them. Instead, return them to the nearest store for a full refund – no receipt is needed.
