Aldi has launched a new drink described as 'genuinely rare' – a White Shiraz wine priced at just £5.99. The supermarket, known for its SpecialBuy deals and affordable prices, has added this unique bottle to its wine selection ahead of summer.
What is the new Aldi White Shiraz?
The Kooliburra White Shiraz (75cl) is now available in stores nationwide. Made from the Shiraz grape, it is vinified as a white wine through minimal skin contact, offering all the freshness of a white wine. Sam Caporn, a Master of Wine since 2011 and recipient of the Madame Bollinger Medal for Excellence in Tasting, described it as 'a genuinely rare and exciting find'. She said: 'This White Shiraz is crisp and fresh - completely unlike a traditional Shiraz; it's perfect for Pinot Grigio lovers!'
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
Shoppers can expect 'notes of crunchy raspberry pip and pomegranate, with some softer honeysuckle hints, all balanced by a crisp, zesty acidity'. Aldi describes the wine as vibrant and light-bodied, ideal for warmer weather. The supermarket suggests it is perfect for enjoying chilled in the sunshine, at barbecues, or for moments that call for something out of the ordinary.
Other Aldi wine deals
Aldi also offers a wine of the week. From May 7, the Italian Toscana Bianco 75cl is available for £4.99, down from £8.49. Additionally, the supermarket stocks a variety of beers, wines, spirits, and alcohol-free options including alcohol-free lager, London dry and tonic, and pink and lemonade.
Health reminder
