Uber Eats and Wagamama Launch Tokyo Drift Deliveries in London
Uber Eats and Wagamama Tokyo Drift Deliveries in London

British drift champion Ollie Evans has swapped the podium for piping-hot katsu curry to make surprise drop-offs across London from July 21 to July 23, partnering with Uber Eats and wagamama for a high-octane delivery stunt. The collaboration replaces the typical moped with a full-throttle Japanese street car inspired by Tokyo's underground racing scene, celebrating wagamama's launch on Uber Eats.

Drift Deliveries: Fast and Furious Food

The stunt, dubbed Drift Deliveries, brings wagamama's favourite dishes—including chicken katsu curry, gyoza, and bang bang cauliflower—to customers via Uber Eats for the first time. Evans, known for his precision drifting, will navigate London streets to deliver orders, turning an everyday meal into a memorable experience.

Customers across the UK also get a chance to win a year's supply of wagamama. Anyone who orders through Uber Eats between July 21 and 23 will be entered into a ballot. Finalists will be invited to a food-inspired drift challenge, riding alongside Evans at a UK racetrack.

Celebrating the Launch with Spectacle

Merve Basci, general manager at Uber Eats UK, said: "Great food deserves memorable moments. As wagamama reaches more homes than ever through Uber Eats, we wanted to celebrate in a way that's as bold and energetic as the food itself. Drift Deliveries turns an everyday order into something completely unexpected."

Mark Chambers, CEO at wagamama UK, added: "wagamama has always been about serving fresh food, cooked to order and full of flavour. Launching on Uber Eats means even more people across the UK can enjoy their favourite dishes, wherever they are. To celebrate, we wanted to do something that captured the energy and passion behind the food while staying true to our Japanese roots. Drift Deliveries brings together speed, spectacle and culture to mark the occasion in a way that's unmistakably wagamama."

How the Ballot Works

The promotion runs from July 21 to July 23, 2026. Customers ordering wagamama via Uber Eats during this period are automatically entered into a ballot to win a year's supply of food. Finalists will be selected to participate in a drift challenge at a UK racetrack, riding as passengers alongside Ollie Evans. The exact number of winners and the value of the prize have not been disclosed, but the offer aims to generate excitement around the new partnership.

Impact on Delivery and Dining

This collaboration marks a significant expansion for wagamama, which now reaches more homes across the UK through Uber Eats. The partnership combines the fast-casual dining chain's popular menu with Uber Eats' extensive delivery network, potentially increasing accessibility for customers who prefer delivery over dine-in. The drift stunt serves as a marketing campaign to highlight the convenience and speed of the service, tying into the cultural appeal of Japanese street racing.
