Liverpool's summer transfer window is accelerating as the Reds pursue top targets Yan Diomande and Eduardo Camavinga, while a £60 million move receives backing. PSG have reportedly opened talks to sign Diomande ahead of Liverpool, adding pressure to secure the winger.
PSG Open Diomande Talks
In a worrying development for Liverpool fans, PSG are getting serious in their pursuit of Yan Diomande, who wants the move to France. One of the few clubs with more pulling power than the Reds, the back-to-back Champions League winners are now in the lead for his signature, according to Sky Sports News. Diomande's preference is to move to the Parc des Princes, where he allegedly has a five-year contract already agreed. However, PSG and RB Leipzig are yet to agree a fee, and a higher bid from Liverpool could gazump Les Parisiens for the highly sought-after winger.
Camavinga Contact Made
Liverpool's pursuit of Eduardo Camavinga appears to be trending in the right direction after the Reds opened talks for his signature. Real Madrid are seemingly open to selling the Frenchman, valued at £52 million, after a difficult season at the Bernabeu. Mundo Deportivo reported that Liverpool have made contact over a deal to add midfield depth. Camavinga is not keen on a move and is trying to convince Jose Mourinho to give him a chance, but Liverpool are ready to capitalise if Madrid cash in.
Spurs Urged to Complete Gakpo Deal
Former Tottenham full-back Alan Hutton has encouraged his old club to get serious in their pursuit of Cody Gakpo. Hutton believes Gakpo would address a problem area for Roberto De Zerbi's squad after Spurs have already spent considerably. “Gakpo would definitely add quality and address a problem area for Tottenham, especially for the last few seasons when Odobert was out, Kudus was out, Kulusevski was out,” Hutton told Betarades. “They need more goals coming from wide areas, more supply for Solanke and Richarlison. Gakpo brings experience and a winning mentality.”
Liverpool's Summer Business
Liverpool have already secured the signing of Victor Munoz for £34.5 million, the first official signing under Andoni Iraola. Jeremy Jacquet is also poised to officially become a Liverpool player. This week marks the end of Mohamed Salah's nine-year tenure at Anfield as his contract expires. The Reds are active in the market, with talks ongoing for Diomande and Camavinga, while a £60 million move has been backed by pundits.
