Hull drug dealer jailed after cash bed photo

Thomas Crombie, a 23-year-old drug dealer from Hull, was sentenced to 27 months in prison after his girlfriend Marley Hadfield photographed him grinning in bed covered in banknotes, bragging about his profitable Class A drug business. The image was presented during sentencing at Hull Crown Court.

Police raid and seizure

Humberside Police raided Crombie's property on Carden Avenue, Hull, on June 12 last year, seizing £10,000 worth of Class A, B, and C narcotics, along with £10,000 in cash. Crombie pleaded guilty to supplying Class A drugs, possessing criminal property, and possessing cannabis.

Girlfriend's role and sentence

Hadfield, 22, from Bainton Grove, Hull, took over Crombie's drug operation after he broke his ankle in a bicycle crash and could not visit customers. Footage shown in court captured her boasting about selling Class A drugs on Hull's streets. Judge John Thackray KC rejected her claim that she was manipulated by Crombie, stating she was an eager accomplice. Defence counsel Richard Butters argued there was no evidence Crombie controlled her, noting she was a point of contact for buyers.
