Five UK Firms Enter Administration: Golf Club, Food Firm, More

Five UK businesses, including a popular golf club, a Chinese food company, and a construction firm, have entered administration in recent weeks. Administration temporarily transfers control of a business and its assets to an administrator, who attempts to save all or parts of the business. If unsuccessful, staff may be made redundant.

Forest Hill Golf Club

Located 20 minutes from Leicester city centre, Forest Hill Golf Club has entered administration after 35 years of operation. The club features an 18-hole championship golf course, a floodlit 20-bay driving range with TrackMan Range Technology, a three-bay golf simulation suite, an 18-hole adventure golf course, a fully equipped gym and studio, and a lounge bar and restaurant. The club remains open as usual and is expected to be offered to the market in due course.

Ming Foods

Ming Foods, a family-founded company that has supplied Chinese food to restaurants across the UK for decades, has also entered administration. The company operates from Maidstone Road in Swanley, Kent, and has been in business since 1984. Founders Mr and Mrs Minh started the business from their kitchen before expanding into a restaurant and then a manufacturing business. Ming Foods distributes across the UK and EU to oriental wholesalers, who supply supermarket chains and restaurants.

The company describes itself as a British manufacturer delivering quality craftsmanship, advanced engineering, and bespoke customization. Its team has decades of combined experience in the marine industry. No reason for the administration has been given.

BGL Contracts Limited

BGL Contracts Limited, an electrical company specializing in fit-out work for leisure, hospitality, retail, and automotive clients, has entered administration after nearly 20 years. All 40 jobs have been lost. The director stated that the business faced “insurmountable challenges” as costs increased and financial pressure worsened. The company installed electrics across Glasgow venues, including the Hard Rock Cafe.
