Brisbane Broncos star Reece Walsh has given his most devoted supporters an exclusive glimpse into his new clothing venture, a business move that could secure his financial future after his rugby league career. The 23-year-old fullback shared images of various items set to be released under his label, 'Walshy 1 of 1'.
The brand's logo, which cleverly incorporates the letter 'R' within the letter 'W' as a tribute to his initials, was prominently showcased. In an Instagram post, Walsh wrote: 'Just a boy from the 4211 having a crack! Can't wait to show you all what we are up to!' The postcode 4211 refers to the Gold Coast, his birthplace.
To mark the brand's official launch, Walsh visited a tattooist to have the logo permanently inked on his body, sharing the moment with his followers. However, he has yet to reveal a full catalogue of the products he intends to sell.
Despite the limited preview, fans have expressed overwhelming excitement on social media. One commented: 'Can't wait, looks good.' Another wrote: 'Super excited to wear these.' A third added: 'Omg, I'm actually excited – this is where my pay will go from now on.'
Walsh's latest entrepreneurial move follows the launch of 'The Average Golf Open' merchandise in April, which accompanied his founding of a national amateur golf series designed for everyday golfers. The series features 12 tournaments across Queensland and New South Wales, with teams competing for a trip to the USA.
