Maroush Restaurant Group Falls Into Administration After 45 Years
Maroush Restaurant Group Enters Administration

Maroush, a long-established Lebanese restaurant group that has been a staple of London's dining scene since 1981, has entered administration, marking a significant blow to one of the capital's most prominent Middle Eastern hospitality brands. According to a notice in The London Gazette, Maroush Group Limited was placed into administration on June 12, 2026, through the High Court of Justice.

History of Maroush

Founded in 1981 by Lebanese couple Marouf and Houda Abouzaki, who relocated to London during the Lebanese Civil War, Maroush opened its first restaurant on Edgware Road. The founders aimed to introduce authentic Lebanese food and hospitality to British diners at a time when international cuisines were only beginning to gain widespread popularity. Over the years, the business expanded into a well-known restaurant group, earning a loyal customer base and critical acclaim.

Flagship Venue

The original Edgware Road restaurant became a flagship venue, capable of serving more than 150 guests across two floors. Known for its lively atmosphere, late-night opening hours, live Lebanese music, and belly dancing performances, it remained one of the most prominent Lebanese dining destinations in the capital.
