Man Utd transfer news: Kim Min-jae snub, Nkunku chance

Manchester United's pursuit of Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae has hit a major obstacle, with the South Korea international reportedly deciding to stay in Germany. However, a squad overhaul at AC Milan could hand United a chance to sign long-term target Christopher Nkunku.

Kim Min-jae stays at Bayern

According to BILD, the 29-year-old centre-back is content with his situation at Bayern and has no intention of pushing for a move overseas. Despite occasional spells out of favour under manager Vincent Kompany, Kim remains dedicated to fighting for his place.

United have tracked the defender since his championship-winning spell at Napoli. With the player approaching 30 in November, it appears unlikely he will ever join the Red Devils.

Nkunku available at AC Milan

Meanwhile, former United manager Ruben Amorim, now in charge at AC Milan, has reportedly declared Christopher Nkunku expendable following a disappointing pre-season. United have monitored the French striker since Ralf Rangnick's spell in 2022.

Nkunku had a troubled period at Chelsea before joining the Serie A club. With Amorim approving his exit, United have a chance to strengthen their forward line, though it remains unclear if they will submit an official bid.
