Disneyland is known as the most magical place on Earth, but for those seeking an elite experience, there exists a secret club hidden within the park. Club 33, an exclusive inner circle, is available only to the rich and famous, with a joining fee that can reach up to £38,000.
The Origins of Club 33
Originally established in Disneyland California, Club 33 now has branches in Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland. The club was created as a private retreat for VIPs, and its existence is known only to a select few.
How to Join
Membership is by invitation only, and even those invited face a waiting list of up to 10 years. The list was reportedly closed in 2007 due to its length and reopened in 2012. Celebrities such as the Kardashians, Tom Hanks, and Elton John are said to be members.
Location and Features
The club is hidden in plain sight behind a blue door on 33 Orleans Street, marked with a discreet address plate. Inside, members enjoy plush private dining lounges, antique furniture, and the rare privilege of being able to consume alcohol within the park—a perk not available to regular visitors.
Costs and Perks
Initiation fees range from $25,000 (£19,200) to $50,000 (£38,000), with an annual fee of $30,000 (£23,000). Benefits include quiet times in the park, extra day passes for guests, private VIP tours, and complimentary hotel room upgrades. For overnight stays, members can access the Disneyland Dream Suite, located above the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
Secrecy and Exclusivity
Details about Club 33 are scarce, as members are sworn to secrecy. Florida-based Disney experts Simon and Susan Veness described the level of secrecy as "quite startling" and noted that the club remains an anomaly in the otherwise publicity-driven Disney parks.
Despite the secrecy, some members have shared glimpses. Recently, former Playboy star Holly Madison posted photos from the club's balcony on Instagram, captioning them: "Club 33 Alice in Wonderland tea was divine."
