Jude Bellingham is being tipped to become the new David Beckham as marketing executives predict his brand value will explode due to his 'American' winner's mentality. The England star has been compared to football superstars Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Erling Haaland following his World Cup performances.
Endorsement Deals and Global Appeal
Bellingham has already secured endorsement deals with brands ranging from Adidas to Kim Kardashian's Skims clothing line. His knack for scoring vital goals and his winners' mentality have made him a hit with corporate America, according to Roger Bennett, founder of the US-based Men In Blazers football media network.
In a Daily Star quiz in Beverly Hills, Bellingham was the only England player every American guessed, ahead of captain Harry Kane. Bennett said: "His mentality is so rare for an Englishman. He actually has an American mentality. He sees himself as a winner and is willing to talk about himself that way with a cocksure confidence that many English people have a difficult relationship with but Americans love."
International Career and Brand Expansion
Since starting his career at Birmingham City, Bellingham has played more matches outside the UK than in it. He joined Germany's Borussia Dortmund at 17 before moving to Real Madrid for £108 million in 2023. Sports marketing consultant Tim Crow noted that building a career across different countries has broadened Bellingham's brand, much like Beckham, who played for Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, and LA Galaxy after leaving Manchester United. Beckham remains a top draw for brands 13 years after retiring.
Bellingham, now 23, helped propel Real Madrid's commercial revenues to a record £504 million last season, a 23% increase. A silhouette of his signature goal celebration—head up and arms outstretched—has been featured on Adidas hats and tracksuits, as well as bottles of Lucozade. He has also appeared on the cover of the best-selling football video game EA Sports FC and modeled for Louis Vuitton.
Adidas and Brand Ambassadorship
Sam Handy, general manager at Adidas's football division, said: "Jude has that aspirational quality that all good brands look for as an ambassador. Anyone who has ever met him will tell you his demeanour is incredibly polite, humble and professional. That said, he has an edge, an aura, that makes him comfortable under pressure. It’s clear for him that every moment to step on the pitch is a chance to show the world what he can do and express himself."
