A police cordon is in place on Oban Avenue in Howdon after a vehicle was destroyed in a fire late on Wednesday night.
Incident details
The fire was reported at around 11.30pm. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and extinguished the blaze safely.
Northumbria Police remain in attendance, and photos from the scene show the vehicle has been completely destroyed.
