Met Office yellow fog warning for four Welsh areas

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning covering four parts of Wales, with forecasters warning of possible travel delays. The yellow fog warning came into force shortly after 4am on Saturday and remains in place until 10am.

The warning covers areas in Denbighshire, Flintshire, Powys and Wrexham. The Met Office said people should be prepared for changes to weather conditions, as some patches of fog could last until the afternoon.

Travel disruption expected

People should expect traffic delays due to the heavy fog, and those flying should also plan for delayed or cancelled flights. The Met Office also warned that bus and train services, as well as flights and ferry travel, may be affected.

The Met Office said: "Areas of fog, dense in places with visibility below 100 metres at times, will slowly begin to thin, lift and clear later this morning or, in some spots, not until this afternoon."

Advice for drivers

Forecasters recommended checking road conditions before driving and making sure fog lights were functional. The warning also extends to parts of the East and West Midlands, East of England and Yorkshire and Humber, as well as Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Cheshire.

The poor conditions look set to clear by the afternoon and won't cause any disruption for those with Halloween plans. For those heading out, the weather looks set to be largely dry, with a small risk of isolated showers.
